Ukraine is still able to achieve victory in the war against Russia because assistance from allies is currently in the process of being transferred, stated NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at an event in Berlin.
He noted that NATO allies did not provide Ukraine with the assistance they had promised earlier. The US was unable to allocate funding for Ukraine's support for several months, and the supply of European ammunition was significantly lower than the promised levels. Such delays have consequences.
Thus, according to Stoltenberg, Ukraine lacked air defense, allowing Russian missiles and drones to hit targets. Ukrainian soldiers also lacked long-range missiles, allowing Russia to concentrate more forces.
"But it is not too late for Ukraine to prevail. Because more support is on the way," said Stoltenberg.
He reminded that the US allocated over $60 billion in aid to Ukraine, while Britain, Germany, and the Netherlands announced new arms supplies.
"It is now our responsibility to turn these commitments into real deliveries of weapons and ammunition. And to do so quickly," added Secretary General.
