Report: What Nottingham Forest are now planning to do if they are relegated this season

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis already has some plans in place for if the club are to be relegated back to the Championship.

It really has been a turbulent campaign for Forest this time around with Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side still well within the fight for survival.

With just four games remaining in their Premier League season, Forest sit just one point ahead of the drop zone.

Luton Town occupy the final spot in the bottom three going into the weekend and the Hatters have a much more favourable fixture than Forest.

Nuno’s men will be coming up against the reigning champions Manchester City whilst Luton face Wolves.

But there is only one real topic of discussion currently at the City Ground and that is the performances of referees.

Forest feel incredibly hard done by over the course of the season and the weekend’s defeat to Everton was no different.

However, Evangelos Marinakis now seemingly has a plan in place if Forest are to go down over the coming weeks.

What Nottingham Forest now have planned if they are to be relegated

It has been a seriously difficult season for Forest when it comes to refereeing decisions.

The list goes on and on with decisions which Forest feel have clearly gone against them this season and there were three entries on the weekend against Everton.

Having lost 2-0 against the Toffees, the club felt they were forced into making a rather bold statement in the wake of the game.

And that statement has received a lot of criticism from those in the media and could well see Forest slapped with a fine.

With the club now firmly at risk of returning to the Championship, The Athletic are reporting Marinakis has plans to take legal action if they are relegated.

The club clearly feel there have been enough decisions go against them over the course of the season to play a significant factor in their potential relegation.

It is also reported that there is a strong feeling at the club that the world is against them following the VAR decisions and the four-point deduction after breaching profitability and sustainability regulations.

Howard Webb now has specific plan to deal with Nottingham Forest

The game on Merseyside left Forest feeling incredibly hard done by and that saw major backlash from the club towards Howard Webb.

It is said the head of the PGMOL is set to meet with the Forest owner or their minority shareholder Sokratis Kominakis this week to try and calm things down at the City Ground.

Forest are even said to have requested the audio recordings of the decisions which they feel went against them on thr weekend.

Whatever the outcome of the meeting, it is clear there will be a lot of pressure on referee Simon Hooper on Sunday to get the calls right.
