A new ShopRite in South Plainfield, New Jersey, is opening next month and hiring for 200 full and part-time jobs.

The supermarket, which is currently under construction in Hadley Commons Plaza on 6781 Hadley Road, is looking to hire employees ahead of the store’s opening in late spring.

This is the second big ShopRite hiring in 2024, as the company hired roughly 300 employees ahead of the March opening of the Old Bridge ShopRite store.

The South Plainfield ShopRite is accepting applications for a bookkeeper, cake decorator, cashiers, clerks, store manager and other team members that would typically be hired at a grocery store.

ShopRite’s South Plainfield hiring center, which is located at 6303 Hadley Road, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is also in the same shopping center as the future supermarket.

Interested applicants can also apply online here as well as at the hiring center. ShopRite is also hosting a job fair on Saturday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The job fair will take place at a number of ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Gourmet Garage and Fairway Market stores, which are all owned by Wakefern Food Corp (you can see the list of stores not participating on the job fair page.

The new ShopRite will replace an existing ShopRite in Piscataway, however, a closing date for that store has not been announced.
