German Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock secretly met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Among other topics, the issue of assistance to Ukraine was discussed, according to Bild.

The agency notes that Baerbock and Stoltenberg were seen at a restaurant in one of Berlin's five-star hotels as they exited the hotel surrounded by seven security service employees.

According to Bild, the meeting at the Telegraphenamt hotel restaurant lasted nearly three hours.

The meeting was initiated by Stoltenberg. The main topics were European security and further assistance to Ukraine.

European aid to Ukraine

Due to a prolonged delay in aid from the United States, Europe has taken on this role, with Germany making a significant contribution.

In March, Germany provided Ukraine with a large aid package. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received new drones, tank shells, and artillery ammunition.

Germany is actively assisting Ukraine in the area of air defense, as Ukraine faces a significant shortage of air defense systems.

We reported that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that his country had identified at least six systems currently held by partner countries that could be transferred to Ukraine.

Furthermore, the German government has urged the United States to supply Ukraine with at least one additional Patriot anti-missile system.
