In Mykolaiv, explosions were heard overnight into April 28 during an air raid alert, declared due to the threat of an enemy attack using strike drones of the Shahed type or aerial bombs, according to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych.

"Explosions in Mykolaiv. Investigating. Will provide information later," the mayor said in his Telegram post.

Before this, the Air Force command warned of the detection of a group of enemy kamikaze drones of the Shahed type in the sky over the Mykolaiv region. An air raid alert was announced in the region.

Additionally, the military urged residents of Mykolaiv to take shelter due to the threat of an enemy attack using strike drones.

At the same time, the Air Force reported on the activity of enemy tactical aviation in southern Ukraine.

"There is a threat of the use of aviation weapons against the frontline regions!" the military announcement said at 04:30.

Later, the mayor of Mykolaiv also reminded the importance of observing the information silence rule and asked residents not to leave shelter until the alert is lifted.

"Mykolaiv residents, the air raid alert is still in effect, so please be extremely cautious. I repeat we will provide all official information! Please do not post photos/videos on social media," he wrote at 05:12.

Nighttime Russian air attack on Ukraine

Earlier, the Russian army launched a group of kamikaze drones on the evening of April 27 to strike Ukrainian territory. An air raid alert was announced in several regions. The enemy's barrage munitions maneuvered for several hours, reaching, among other places, the western part of the country.

Indeed, the Air Force had warned residents of Starokostiantyniv in the Khmelnytskyi region about the threat of Shahed attacks. Military officials announced the cancellation of the threat from enemy strike drones at 03:54.

Now, the Russian army have launched a new group of Shahed drones for an aerial attack.
