Seven-year-old Johnathon Jarvis from Upwell to walk from his home to Hunstanton’s lifeboat station to raise money for RNLI

A seven-year-old boy who aspires to save lives at sea when he grows up is set to walk 40 miles to Hunstanton’s lifeboat station.

Johnathon Jarvis will be setting off from his home in Upwell on May 30 and walking all the way to Hunstanton’s lifeboat station to raise money for the RNLI.

The youngster will be joined by his parents, Kayleigh and Lee Jarvis - as well as various friends and family members - on the walk which will take place across four days with overnight stays planned in between.

In 2022, Johnathon walked a mile for charity, and last year he walked a mile every day in May to raise even more funds.

His mum Kayleigh said: “He is putting in the effort. He has been doing some training walks to get ready for it.

“He does it without moaning, he’s quite happy.”

Johnathon, a pupil of Beaupre Community Primary School in Outwell, has been interested in the RNLI from a young age and aspires to join the crew when he is older to help save lives at sea.

Kayleigh added: “Yellow is his favourite colour and the lifeboat crews wear yellow suits and wellies.

“He loves all the boats, hovercrafts and tractors, everywhere we go we always have to stop to visit the local RNLI station to have a look at what they’ve got.

“He has said when he grows up that he wants to be part of the RNLI to help save lives.”
