During the night of April 28, an explosion occurred in one of the high-rise buildings in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv. Two men were injured, according to the Kyiv police.

"The report of an explosion near one of the high-rise buildings in the Sviatoshynskyi district was received by the police overnight," the statement said.

Investigative and operational groups from the main and district police departments, as well as bomb disposal experts and medical personnel, were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that as a result of the explosion, likely caused by a grenade blast, two men were injured.

"The victims were taken to a medical facility. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified," the police added.

The Sviatoshynskyi police department has initiated criminal proceedings under two articles - illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives, and careless infliction of serious or moderate bodily harm.

Explosions in Kyiv

Explosions are not uncommon in Kyiv. Just seven days ago, on April 21, explosions occurred in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. Presumably, a grenade exploded, resulting in the death of a man.

Recall that in 2016, during protests near the Verkhovna Rada, there was an explosion of a hand grenade. At that time, dozens of law enforcement officers were injured.
