‘Don’t take my’...Lucas Digne sends message to Morgan Rogers in reaction to Aston Villa 2-2 Chelsea

Aston Villa were forced to settle for a draw against Chelsea on Saturday night, a fixture that saw Morgan Rogers score at Villa Park once again, however, not everyone was happy with the 21-year-old.

In a thrilling 90 minutes of football, Aston Villa were happy to earn a point at Villa Park against Chelsea, as the Blues fought from being 2-0 down away from home.

It wasn’t the best performance from the Villans, who looked to have an edge of complacency about them in the second half, seeing their two-goal lead vanish as the visitors found a way back into the game.

Unai Emery was not happy with some of his players during the contest, as Villa took their foot off the gas in the second half to allow Chelsea to level the scoring through Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher.

A Marc Cucurella own goal after just four minutes saw Villa Park erupt, with Morgan Rogers giving Villa a 2-0 lead to take into the second half, a scoreline that ultimately earned the Villans a draw.

It was a disappointing evening for Villa but a celebratory one to some extent for Rogers who scored his third consecutive Premier League goal at Villa Park, which he celebrated on social media after the game.

There was a lot to be said about Rogers’ celebration after he put the Villans 2-0 up against Chelsea, as he celebrated with Cole Palmer’s favoured ‘cold’ move, something that the 21-year-old has claimed.

On Instagram after the game, Rogers posted a photo of him celebrating against the Blues with the caption ‘Another one’, recording his fourth goal contribution in his previous five Premier League games in claret and blue.

Villa teammates Omari Kellyman and Lucas Digne were among those who commented on the photo to congratulate the Englishman however, not everyone was pleased with the January arrival’s post.

Why Lucas Digne wasn’t happy with Morgan Rogers on social media after Chelsea draw

In the comments, many fans questioned the 21-year-old’s decision to post after Villa dropped two points from being 2-0 ahead in the game, with his teammate Digne also not happy with the youngster.

On Twitter, the Frenchman replied to the attacker’s post saying ‘Don’t take my sentence please,’ sharing some light-hearted banter with the goalscorer.

Digne is frequently heard saying ‘another one’ on Aston Villa’s official social media channels after wins, hence his request for Rogers to not steal his phrase in his Instagram caption.

It’s a funny interaction between the two Villa stars who despite being happy on social media, will share some dissatisfaction at their side’s inability to claim an important three points against the Blues.
