Tottenham might have lost to Arsenal today but the stadium DJ was having none of it by the sounds of things.
Tottenham’s second-half fightback proved unsuccessful in the end after a disastrous first 45 allowed Arsenal to be 3-0 up at the break.
As has been the case on many occasions this season, Tottenham had to rally in the second half and in fairness to them, they did.
Goals from Cristian Romero and then Heung-Min Son ensured a tense finish to the game but in the end, Arsenal held out, much to the delight of their travelling support and players.
Of course, winning in your biggest rivals’ stadium is one of the best feelings in football.
On the flipside, losing at home to your rivals is one of the worst and with Arsenal celebrating wildly with the away fans, the Tottenham DJ was having none of it.
According to journalist Sam Dean, the Tottenham DJ simply cranked up the music as Arsenal attempted to celebrate with their fans and have a sing-song. As Dean notes in his tweet here, it was top notch pettiness in a local derby.
Tottenham can do what they want but Arsenal will not care
This is a nice little observation from Dean here and one that Tottenham fans will probably have a chuckle about in the pub.
However, when all is said and done, it’s Arsenal who got the win and marched towards the title, while Tottenham were left to lick their wounds and regroup.
Of course, everyone loves a bit of derby-day pettiness and this is right up there in terms of doing something in your power to annoy your rivals.
But in that away end, Arsenal fans probably didn’t even notice and the scenes at full-time were like they’d won the league already, such was the size of the win.
The Tottenham DJ will eventually have to turn things off. While for Arsenal fans, their chants will be going long into the night on another huge day of action.
