Donald Trump is looking much more tired now than he was in 2016 during his campaign and his presidency, according to a former official in the ex-president's White House.

Former White House communications chief Anthony Scaramucci appeared on MSNBC to discuss Trump, who has been reportedly napping through some of his criminal hush money cover-up trial.

The host said Trump "has drawn attention for his demeanor in court during his hush money trial."

"Courtroom observers report seeing him fall asleep or talk out of turn. Now he is fighting against a gag order imposed by calling it 'unconstitutional.' You worked with Trump in the White House. What you make of his behavior during this trial?" civil rights activist Al Sharpton asked.

Scaramucci replied, "I think he's tired. I think he has way less energy than he did when I was working with them in the White House or on the 2016 campaign. He looks absolutely miserable. He is not great at cloaking the misery."

He added that Trump's posts on Truth Social "are incredible lies." He then spilled about how Trump engaged in that sort of behavior a lot when Scaramucci was working for the former president.

"He did that consistently. I can tell you stories where he would come on the campaign plane and we would ask him why he misquoted something, why did he exaggerate those percentages. He would say sounds better and people will believe it. Even if other people say that I'm lying, people will believe it. He looks terrible and he's lying. It's literally the same playbook he's used as you and I both know from living in New York for 50 years."
