Habeeb Ogunneye shares brilliant new nickname for Man Utd teammate Ethan Wheatley

Manchester United youngster Ethan Wheatley is on a scoring streak and netted twice more for the under-21s yesterday.

With most season objectives accomplished at under-18s level, Manchester United have pushed many of the top talents up to the under-21s to finish off the season.

That’s no problem for the likes of Ethan Wheatley, who has been mixing in with the under-21s throughout the season.

Wheatley proved this, scoring two goals in Manchester United’s under-21 win over Southampton, a game which finished 6-3 to the Red Devils.

Ethan Wheatley celebrates his goals, and gets a new nickname

Ethan Wheatley has already skipped under-21 level in one sense, stepping up to make his first team debut last week.

He told afterwards howBruno Fernandes had tried to set him up for a goal, but there was not quite enough time to make it happen.

Nonetheless, it was a memorable night for Wheatley to make his debut at Old Trafford, coming just 24 hours after he had scored a brace to win the under-18s Premier League Cup final.

Wheatley sent a message out on Instagram, which read simply: “Another 2”, adding to his impressive goal tally which stands at 22 in all competitions this season.

Wheatley’s Manchester United academy teammates are used to seeing him score, it’s a welcome sight to see the centre-forward playing with such confidence.

They were quick to respond to his message, and Habeeb Ogunneye shared his new nickname for Wheatley, now referring to him as ‘250’.

He wrote: “Yes 250” in respond to Wheatley’s message, following on from his first team debut last week.

Ethan Wheatley made history when he came off the bench to make his debut last week.

He became the club’s 250th academy graduate, and we have tracked listed all 250.

The young striker is the sixth Manchester United academy playerhanded his debut by manager Erik ten Hag.

Ogunneye is in with a chance of being number 251. He has been a regular on the bench in recent weeks amid the club’s full-back crisis, and has a chance of stepping in before the season comes to an end.
