Pundit blown away by 'majestic' moment from 24-year-old Arsenal star vs Tottenham

Adrian Clarke was in awe by one moment from an Arsenal star on Sunday against Tottenham in the north London derby.

The Gunners sealed one of their best results of the season with a 3-2 victory against their biggest Premier League rivals, with Arsenal securing their status at the top of the standings with three games left to go.

Goals from Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz were enough to secure the three points despite Tottenham threatening to come back in the second-half, with David Raya and Declan Rice getting away with two errors to allow Spurs back into the game.

And one moment from the match has caught the eye of former Arsenal star Clarke.

Kai Havertz praised after ‘quality’ assist to Bukayo Saka

Speaking on the Handbrake Off podcast, the pundit highlighted how impressive Arsenal’s second goal of the game was, a counter-attacking move that saw Havertz hit a superb long pass as Saka controlled the ball perfectly before finishing it to make it 2-0.

It was a swift move and a goal that many Arsenal fans would consider one of the best scored this season, and Clarke was full of praise for the entire move, specifically Havertz’s pass to Saka to complete the move.

Clarke said: “It’s a famous Arsenal goal, it’s a real beauty. It summed up the quality we have, to be so cool in the box and then to explode was a joy to watch. The delicacy from Havertz and the quality to just drop it.

“How long was that pass? 50 yards? It’s a long distance and he just drops it into Saka’s stride, that pass shouldn’t be underappreciated. The touch is majestic but so is the delivery.”

Havertz showed vs Tottenham why Arsenal were right to sign him

With 13 goals and six assists in all competitions, Havertz is enjoying his best year yet in England, and it’s no real surprise that Arsenal and Mikel Arteta has again been proven right over signing the German.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has established himself as a key player for the Gunners in 2024, with Havertz’s performances in the centre-forward role potentially opening the door for the former Chelsea man to take the position for himself next season.

And with Havertz forging a real connection with Arsenal supporters, it’s no real wonder why the German is now enjoying his best football yet, with the north London faithful fully on board with the no. 29.
