Sky Sports journalist delivers the most exciting West Ham manager update yet

A Sky Sports journalist has delivered hands down the most exciting West Ham manager update yet involving three top bosses.

When it comes to West Ham it is the hope that kills you.

But there will be plenty of it around after some fascinating news from Florian Plettenberg.

As West Ham fans will be well aware, the club has been linked with no fewer than 14 managers.

That in itself suggests the Hammers are very much preparing to say goodbye to David Moyes next month.

Of the 14 names on West Ham’s rather long “shortlist” – three in particular have excited the club’s fans.

Not only that but the trio of names have united them too – an increasingly rare achievement for a fanbase often divided over one thing or another, chiefly the future of their current manager over the last couple of years.

Three managers capture West Ham imaginations

West Ham are said to have held talks with Sporting boss Ruben Amorim at David Sullivan’s mansion.

Reports have also claimed there has been a conversation between the Hammers and Julen Lopetegui too.

Journalist Graeme Bailey exclusively told Hammers News before any other outlet that Tim Steidten is keen to bring departing Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel to West Ham.

Bailey also warned not to underestimate Steidten’s ability to lure close friend Tuchel back to London.

Paulo Fonseca, the Portuguese manager leading Lille into the Champions League, is another name which has been welcomed by the West Ham faithful.

While there are reservations over Lopetegui, the other three are the preferred candidates of supporters.

And that is reflected in the boardroom it seems.

Journalist delivers most exciting West Ham manager update yet

Because a Sky Sports journalist has delivered what is hands down the most exciting West Ham manager update yet.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Plettenberg has been speaking about West Ham’s plans to replace Moyes.

Plettenberg is Germany’s answer to David Ornstein and recently interviewed Steidten.

Now he claims that Amorim remains very much top of West Ham’s list to take over as their new manager.

Plettenberg reports that Lopetegui and Fonseca also remain high on the list.

And he revealed once more that Steidten holds Tuchel in very high regard and that the German boss wants to return to the Premier League this summer.

“Amorim remains at the top of the list for West Ham!” Plettenberg said.

“Lopetegui is also still on the list.

“Another candidate is Fonseca (Lille) due to his style of play.

“West Ham is also keeping an eye on Tuchel’s situation, as Sporting Director Steidten holds him in very high regard. Tuchel, ready to return to the Premier League in summer.”

Wow, what an update.

Plettenberg has a very good track record and is a top tier source. He was the man who first reported Harry Kane’s move to Bayern.

West Ham fans would be delighted with any one of Amorim, Fonseca or Tuchel.

Amorim is the one who has really captured the imagination of the fanbase.

So to hear the club is still holding out hope of making him their new boss is seriously encouraging.

If those three-hour talks had really “gone badly” as reported then why would he still be on West Ham’s list, let alone top of it.

Exciting times ahead it seem.
