Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing a player who Mauricio Pochettino wanted back in 2018

As we approach the end of the season, rumours are circulating over who Chelsea are going to be looking to sign in the upcoming transfer window.

The Blues have certainly spent big in the transfer market since the new owners came in to the club, breaking their transfer record twice in consecutive windows for Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

In addition, the likes of Romeo Lavia, Mykhailo Mudryk, Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku have all joined for decent fees that will eventually need to be balanced.

This is likely to come from the sale of some homegrown players, with it remaining to be seen if Conor Gallagher will be on this list.

Even if he stays, the likes of Ian Maatsen, Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah are all expected to move on this summer.

It is players coming the other way that are more interesting though, and one who has been recently linked is a player Mauricio Pochettino will know more than enough about.

Chelsea considering signing Jack Grealish

It has been reported that the Blues are considering the addition of Jack Grealish from Manchester City as an option.

The England international does feature a lot for the treble winners, however in a similar form to how it was with Raheem Sterling, he does not start every week for Pep Guardiola.

Before he made his move to the Etihad, it was reported that Tottenham were interested in a deal for him back in 2018.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham wanted Grealish

In charge at the time was Pochettino, with him likely consulted over the pros and cons of that deal at the time.

Grealish would certainly provide a level of experience that the first team seems to be lacking right now. There will be a big void in the team without Thiago Silva next season.

However, with the promise and hope they have in Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke, it remains to be seen if they actually make a move for Grealish.
