Edinburgh Drive property in Wisbech boarded up after being ordered to close for three months by court to prevent anti-social behaviour

A building in town has been boarded up after being ordered to close.

Following concerns by local residents an address on Edinburgh Drive in Wisbech has been ordered by the courts to close for three months from Monday, April 29.

The Wisbech Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) has worked closely alongside Clarion Housing Group to apply to the courts for a closure order of the address to protect the neighbourhood from anti-social behaviour, drug use, and dealing at the premises.

The application was granted by Peterborough Magistrates Court.

It is now a criminal offence to enter the location.

PC Smart from Wisbech NPT said: "I hope this action provides some reassurance to the local community that we take concerns of anti-social behaviour seriously.

“Despite Police activity at the address being carried out by the NPT the activity has continued to take place, therefore we have used our powers to apply for a full closure order.”
