Report: Norwich City tell Celtic how much they will really need to pay to buy Adam Idah

The debate on whether or not Celtic should buy Adam Idah after his loan spell ends this summer has been a hot topic amongst the Hoops fans and pundits.

Idah has been in superb goalscoring form for Celtic and no one can deny that his goals since joining on loan this year have kept us in a title race.

Tucking away two last-minute penalties against Hibs on his debut immediately endeared Idah to the Celtic support and vital goals against Motherwell and Rangers have further bolstered the Hoops fans love for the striker.

John Hartson has recently told Celtic that they should splash the cash this summer to buy Idah and now, it seems that the price tag is now set as the end of the youngster’s loan spell nears.

Celtic learn price to land Adam Idah permanently

According to The Scottish Sun, Norwich City have told Celtic that they must pay a ‘minimum’ of £5m if they want to land the 23-year-old striker on a permanent deal.

With seven goals and two assists in fourteen appearances and considering most of those outings were from the bench, £5m seems like a bit of a no-brainer in today’s current market.

In Idah, Celtic know what they are getting so forking out that fee won’t be as much of a gamble as spending it on a relatively unknown quantity.

And at just 23, Idah is already an established international striker with 24 caps to his name so the fee would be a sound investment.

Brendan Rodgers, however, seems in no rush to make his move and whilst being impressed with the striker, is going to wait until the end of the season to make a decision.

Rodgers said recently, “I’m excited to work with him. He thrives on the pressure here and has a hunger to improve.

“So we’ll assess that at the end of the season. It’s not all in our hands.”
