Report: Chelsea have put £30m player on their shortlist, he passes their data test

One player is ticking all of the data boxes for Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.

This season, the Blues have been quite poor defensively.

Last summer, Chelsea signed central defender Axel Disasi and goalkeepers Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic to strengthen at the back.

However, that has not stopped them from conceding 59 goals in the Premier League.

They could now look to improve their backline, with Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford recently being linked with a move to west London. Chelsea are also thought to be interested in one of his England teammates.

Chelsea put £30m Premier League player on shortlist

Despite signing Sanchez and Petrovic last summer, Chelsea still appear to be in the market for a new goalkeeper.

Pickford is not the only shot-stopper on their radar, though.

According to LondonWorld, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale ticks several boxes for Chelsea when it comes to data and the Blues now have him on their shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old seems very attainable after losing his spot in the Arsenal team to David Raya.

The Gunners signed Ramsdale from Sheffield United for £30m back in 2021.

Aaron Ramsdale similar to Robert Sanchez

Ramsdale has not played too much this season, making just six appearances in the Premier League.

However, he was Arsenal’s No.1 goalkeeper last term and registered a save percentage of 70.6%, according to FBref.

That is practically the same as what Sanchez has managed in the current campaign, 70.5%.

Looking at that, then, would the England international be an upgrade on the former Brighton & Hove Albion man? Probably not by much, if at all.

Nevertheless, it looks like Chelsea are not completely satisfied with both Sanchez and Petrovic, making a move for Ramsdale in the summer possible. And again, with the goalkeeper not playing right now, he seems like a very realistic target, one who may be open to a switch across London because of his current predicament.
