Report: 23-year-old Chelsea player is actually worth more than Cole Palmer right now

You’ll struggle to find a summer signing who has had a bigger impact on their side than Cole Palmer has at Chelsea this season.

The 21-year-old made the move to Chelsea for a relatively modest fee in comparison to other signings these days, although his impact is anything but modest.

20 Premier League goals is an achievement Blues supporters have not seen at Stamford Bridge in sometime, with him competing at the top of the charts alongside the likes of Erling Haaland.

Palmer will be crucial in his side’s goal of qualifying for Europe for next season, something that could actually keep Mauricio Pochettino in his job for another campaign.

With all the big-money stars in West London right now, it would be fair if supporters believed that he was the most valuable player at the club right now.

However, according toThe Athletic, who have been sourced information by CIES Football Observatory, state that even though Palmer’s value has more than doubled, he is not the most valuable Chelsea player right now.

Enzo Fernandez worth more than Cole Palmer

It states that Enzo Fernandez is actually worth the most at the club, which is perhaps telling considering he was at one stage the most expensive signing the club ever made.

The World Cup winner has played his last game of this season after he had surgery to try and fix a long-term issue he has been struggling with.

Fernandez out for the rest of the season

This left the 23-year-old playing through games in serious pain, and therefore certainly not able to perform to his best level in recent months.

In his absence, the midfield duo of Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher have been performing admirably, with them both enjoying superb displays in their last game against Aston Villa, with the latter finding the net in superb style to help them rescue a point from the Midlands.
