‘My understanding’: Journalist shares what he has heard about Mauricio Pochettino and transfers at Chelsea

Journalist Sami Mokbel has now shared what he has heard about the current transfer situation at Chelsea.

The Blues are no doubt already looking at transfer targets ahead of the upcoming summer window, whether Mauricio Pochettino is going to be in charge or not.

It has been reported thatthe boss is under immense pressure right now, and needs to get his side to finish in the European places in the Premier League this season.

This could play a crucial role in their transfer business, with it being more difficult to convince the top players to join if they are not playing at least in the Conference League.

Pochettino has stressed on multiple occasions that his side needs more experience in their ranks, with him having to deal with a young squad in key moments this season.

His frustration could well stem from back in the previous summer transfer window, when the club signed a large amount of players and even smashed their transfer record forMoises Caicedo.

Mauricio Pochettino has no say in Chelsea transfers

Mokbel told the‘The Josh and Darko Show’ that he has been told that the club have not really leant on the boss when it comes to transfer advice since he took over at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “My understanding is Chelsea have not signed a single player Pochettino has asked for or recommended”

Whether this is because they do not have full faith in Pochettino at this stage or not remains to be seen, although reports have stated that they are looking into the prospect of a new manager at the club for next season.

Chelsea interested in Ruben Amorim

One of those who has been mentioned a lot is Ruben Amorim, who is currently on course for another league title with Sporting Lisbon.

It was even stated that they had held a meeting with the 39-year-old, although the club have categorically denied this was the case at this point of the season.
