Report: Tottenham might not have enough money to sign 'really clever' striker this summer

Tottenham Hotspur need a new striker this summer.

Spurs haven’t properly replaced Harry Kane after selling the England captain last summer, and, inevitably, they’ve been linked with a number of signings heading into this summer transfer window.

The likes of Santiago Gimenez and Ivan Toney have been linked to Tottenham as of late, but perhaps the most intriguing rumour surrounds Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.

Newcastle are said to be cutting it fine in terms of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules, and sales may be needed at St James’ Park.

In light of that news, Tottenham have been linked with Isak, but, unfortunately, this one sounds as though it may be a non-starter.

Alexander Isak may be too expensive for Tottenham

According to a report in The Sun, as posted by Tom Barclay on X, Alexander Isak may be too expensive for Tottenham.

The Swedish striker joined Newcastle for £60m back in 2022, and Tottenham may not have the financial might to coax him away from St James’ Park at this point.

Spurs may have to look at cheaper options this summer as Isak is likely to cost too much.

Alexander Isak is so valuable

It’s not surprising to hear that Isak may be too expensive for Tottenham.

Think about it, this is a 24-year-old striker who is in red hot form and proving his worth at the very top level.

Isak cost Newcastle £60m and his stock has only increased from there. It’s not ridiculous to suggest that this is a player worth in excess of £100m.

Described as a ‘really clever’ striker. Isak would be perfect for Spurs, but, unfortunately, it looks as though Ange Postecoglou may have to look elsewhere to fill the void left behind by Harry Kane last summer.

It remains to be seen which striker Tottenham sign this summer.
