Report: Real Madrid now want to sign record-breaking Arsenal youngster this summer

One Arsenal youngster has caught the eye of European giants Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Gunners have one of the best youth setups in the world. Their academy has produced some incredible players over the years.

Bukayo Saka is the first name that springs to mind, while the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson are all first-team players at the club as well.

Arsenal have many more hugely exciting young players coming through their academy.

Ethan Nwaneri is a massive talent, as is Myles Lewis-Skelly. Another young player has been making a lot of noise recently, and some of the biggest clubs in the world want to sign him.

Real Madrid want to sign Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal

Arsenal’s Chido Obi-Martin has been the talk of the town recently.

The Dane is still only 16 years old, but he has been shining for the Gunners youth team. He has been unplayable at U18 level too.

In just 14 starts under Jack Wilshere in the U18 Premier League this season, Obi-Martin has scored a staggering 28 goals. That is an outrageous return.

Obi-Martin’s tally of 28 goals in a single U18 campaign is the highest in Arsenal’s history. He broke Folarin Balogun‘s record in his last appearance against Norwich City, where he scored seven goals in the same game.

Arsenal cannot tie down Obi-Martin on a professional contract until he turns 17 in November this year.

However, clubs in other countries can sign him up now, and Football Transfers reveal that Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the teenager.

Obi-Martin has the same agent as Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, and the report claims the Gunners are hopeful of retaining his services.

What Chido Obi-Martin has said about his Arsenal future

Chido Obi-Martin is up there with the biggest talents Arsenal have ever had.

The youngster became a household name after he scored 10 goals in a single game against Liverpool’s youth side earlier this season.

He has since been on fire and looks unstoppable even at U18 level, which is two years above his age group.

That should tell you all you need to know about Obi-Martin, and it’s no surprise that clubs like Real Madrid are looking at him now.

However, the teenager has addressed his future already, and he has claimed that he wants to stay at Arsenal for the years to come.

He said in March this year: “I would like to stay at Arsenal for a long time. It’s a good club, I can feel that I’m getting much better in training. Arsenal is a club that gives young talent the opportunity to play. There are a lot of good people and good coaches, so I’m really happy to be there.”

“Maybe I will have to play with the U21s permanently from next season. There aren’t that many strikers in the squad, so it will be a good opportunity for me.”
