TNT Sports have taken cheeky dig at Jurgen Klopp after his rant during Liverpool press conference

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was taking no prisoners as he faced the press on Friday morning.

Klopp has never been one to mince his words when talking to reporters. What you see is very much what you get. That’s partly why we love him so much.

Those who are granted an audience with the Liverpool manager may not always feel the same, mind you. Front-line reporters have often bore the brunt of Jurgen’s frustration over the years.

And, with just three press conferences to go as Reds manager, the German let rip again ahead of Sunday’s game with Tottenham Hotspur.

This time though, those attending at the AXA Training Centre were let off the hook, instead Klopp aimed his ire at broadcaster TNT Sports.

What did Jurgen Klopp say about TNT Sports

As is often the way with Klopp, his words were laced with humour to underline a more serious point.

During his time at Anfield, his number one bug bear has been the tightness of the fixture schedule. And having been faced another 12.30 kick-off live on TNT Sports on Saturday, Jurgen decided to go on the attack.

“I had a discussion the other day with colleagues from my favourite TV channel which I will definitely not watch again, TNT,” slammed the 56-year-old, before once again lamenting the quick turnarounds between games.

“In the whole world, we have the quickest turnaround between games. That is absolutely insane.

“But they are still happy and they like subscribers. You can take me off that list! But if you’re ever looking for a pundit, I speak English! I could do it! But……”

How have TNT Sports reacted

In fairness to TNT, they probably loved the free publicity Klopp was giving them. However, despite the smile on his face, the boss was not joking in the slightest.

Not having to worry about facing the TNT cameras again during his time at Liverpool, Klopp gave them both barrells.

Nevertheless, the broadcaster obviously saw the funny side. Taking to X shortly after Jurgen’s press conference, they posted a mocked-up image of Klopp sitting, smiling at the computer filling out an application to be a pundit on their station.

“1 new applicant,” reads the caption alongside a list of Jurgen’s credentials.

It might be slightly awkward the next time Klopp comes across TNT in whatever his next job may be. We look forward to those fireworks!
