Wisbech window fitters win heartfelt thanks from The Queen Elizabeth Hospital after donating Rudham Ward’s entire Amazon wish list

Family-run business Supreme Windows has been giving back to the children’s ward that cared for a baby relative when she became severely unwell.

Macey, now six years old, was admitted to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital aged just six months, battling a life-threatening case of sepsis.

Her two-week stay at the hospital marked a pivotal moment in her journey to recovery.

A few years later, Macey received a tonsillectomy in the Rudham Ward.

Andrew Carson, her uncle and manager of Supreme Windows in Fence Bank, Wisbech: “The vast array of toys and activities which were provided made Macey’s visit much more comfortable.

“After speaking to the wonderful staff and finding out that the toys and activities are gifted, we felt it was only right we do our part.

“We wanted to thank the team for their fantastic work and help them continue to provide a happier environment in what can be a difficult time.”

The team from Supreme Windows recently visited Rudham Ward at The QEH to generously gift a range of items including a tablet, assorted craft kits and a collection of sensory toys for toddlers.

Going above and beyond, the company fulfilled the ward’s entire Amazon wish list.

Sophie Carter, health play specialist on Rudham Ward, said: “We are overwhelmed and very thankful for the generosity shown by Supreme Windows to our patients on Rudham Ward.

“All of the purchases will benefit the children and young people under our care.

“Play is a vital part in aiding a child’s recovery and toys can be used as an effective distraction tool – providing a little bit of normality in an unfamiliar hospital environment.

“This generous donation will make a huge difference, and we are so grateful.”
