ESPN pundit thinks Chelsea player with six goals this season has the potential to be 'absolute dynamite'

Steve Nicol thinks Chelsea have a player that could be “absolute dynamite” in the future if the right things click into place.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has been working with a squad this season at Stamford Bridge that’s filled with so many youngsters, which may go someway to explaining the team’s inconsistency.

The Blues can still partly salvage the campaign if they sneak into the European positions during the next few weeks.

It was a real boost to the side’s chances after beating Tottenham 2-0 on Thursday night.

Steve Nicol has hope for Chelsea attacker

ESPN pundit Steve Nicol believes Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk has some real potential if he can sharpen up his forward play. The same goes for Blues teammate Noni Madueke, too.

For Mudryk, he’s only got six goals in 38 Blues appearances this season. The super fast left-winger does show supporters the odd bit of brilliance in some matches, though.

Nicol told ESPN: “If the two of them (Madueke and Mudryk) figure it out in the final third, then absolute dynamite. Because every time they get it, they make you sit up, especially Mudryk. He makes you sit up because you are not quite sure. And Madueke is beginning to do that. He makes you sit up a little bit. If the two of them can start putting something on the end of all that, then they will be a handful.”

Mykhailo Mudryk must shoot more often and more accurately

Our message to Mudryk, 23, is that he needs to cut infield from the left wing and get some better shots off on goal.

The Ukraine forward has attempted 32 shots in 38 appearances this season. In comparison, Blues central midfielder Enzo Fernandez has 53 shot attempts in 40 matches (BBC).
