Report: Chelsea set sights on 'extraordinary' midfielder available this summer, he dreams of playing in PL

Chelsea have now set their sights on a Serie A star that dreams of playing in the Premier League for the first time in their career.

The Blues have been linked in the transfer rumour mill with a high-profile central midfielder.

With a lot of speculation circling about Conor Gallagher’s future, perhaps it’s not the biggest surprise to hear the rumours name the club alongside potential new midfield signings.

The Chelsea Chronicle has been told that Conor Gallagher will need to accept he’s got no future at Stamford Bridge and that he’s destined to be sold.

Chelsea looking at ‘extraordinary’ midfielder

TEAMtalk has claimed that Chelsea are monitoring Juventus star Adrien Rabiot as a potential transfer target this summer.

It is explained that Rabiot, who’s aged 29, is out of contract at the end of the season and currently available on a free transfer in the summer.

The report says that Chelsea are looking at the Juventus midfielder because he’s a low-cost solution, but it won’t be easy to negotiate personal terms.

Apparently, Rabiot does dream of playing in the Premier League for the first time, with Manchester United pursuing his signature and already making contact with his agent.

TEAMtalk adds that Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are very interested in the Serie A man, too.

Described as “extraordinary” by Juventus boss Max Allegri (Calciomercato), Rabiot is a quality central midfielder that could be quite the coup on a free transfer.

Adrien Rabiot achievements

Chelsea’s current young squad has been found out at times this campaign for a lack of experience and know-how, which is why adding a sprinkle of knowledge would be a smart move.

Rabiot’s eye-catching CV does speak for itself.

The French left-footer won a staggering 19 trophies as a PSG player, including six Ligue 1 league titles. Also, he’s won three pieces of silverware with Juventus, plus the Nations League with his country.

We think this could be a shrewd deal if Chelsea opt to ramp up their interest.
