Report: £19m Manchester United star has no intention of leaving despite Erik ten Hag wanting a replacement

Manchester United are set for a number of changes this summer on and off the field as they prepare for life under Jim Ratcliffe.

The Red Devils have had another poor season overall but could find themselves with a trophy in the cabinet if they can see off rivals City in the FA Cup final.

Of course, pressure remains on Erik ten Hag to get it right but there is a feeling now that the Dutchman will be given the chance by Ratcliffe and co to prove himself.

Ten Hag has had another difficult season with off-field problems once again dominating, while on-field performances have been sporadic and inconsistent to say the least.

However, one man who can hold his head high in terms of individual performances is Portuguese defender, Diogo Dalot.

Dalot has been one of the more consistent players for United. Despite this, there’s been claims he could be sold as Ten Hag seeks a new right-back.

But according to Football Transfers, Dalot has no intention of going anywhere.

Diogo Dalot wants to stay and fight at Manchester United

According to the report from FT, United do want to sign themselves a new right-back this summer.

However, that doesn’t mean Dalot – a £19m signing from Porto in 2018 – will be on his way.

Instead, it’s suggested the Portuguese star wants to remain at the club and fight for his place in the first-team.

Dalot, of course, does have something up his sleeve in terms of convincing those at United to keep him around.

He is not just a right-back, and has filled in more than once at left-back this season. Indeed, among some United fans, he is very much in the mix as their player of the season.

Dalot, then, would be more than welcome to stay by those inside Old Trafford at a weekend.

Quite whether Ten Hag sees it that way come the summer, remains to be seen.
