'Blimey': Chris Sutton says £30m Newcastle player is just getting better and better after win at Burnley

Newcastle United cruised to a 4-1 win over Burnley in Saturday’s 3pm kick-off at Turf Moor.

The Magpies found themselves under the cosh early on as the hosts sought to claw their way towards safety.

However, Newcastle took the lead against the run of play in the 19th minute of the game.

Callum Wilson fired home on the rebound after Alexander Isak forced a save from Arijanet Muric.

Newcastle never looked back after taking the lead and went on on to double their advantage on 35 minutes.

Jacob Murphy set up Sean Longstaff to stroke the ball into the far corner, leaving Muric with no chance.

Five minutes before half-time, Anthony Gordon squared for the unmarked Bruno Guimaraes to fire in at the near post.

And in the 55th minute, Newcastle made it 4-0 as Murphy crossed into the box for Isak to take a touch and fire into the empty net.

Although Burnley pulled a goal back through Dara O’Shea’s header on 86 minutes, it proved a mere consolation.

Newcastle had numerous stand-out players on the day, and Tino Livramento was one of those who impressed for the Magpies.

Chris Sutton loved what he saw from the 21-year-old, singing his praises on BBC Radio 5 Live during the match.

What did Chris Sutton say about Newcastle ace Tino Livramento?

“Livramento from Newcastle deserves a special mention,” said Sutton. “Blimey, he’s got some energy.

“With Trippier injured, the more games Livramento plays, the better he seems to get.”

In the match, Livramento weighed in with two tackles, two interceptions, two clearances and one block.

The £30million man also won three ground duels, made one key pass and had one shot on target, as per Sofascore.

Chronicle Live gave Livramento a 9 out of 10 rating and wrote: ‘Another candidate for man of the match for some.

‘Some surging runs and looked the business down the right-hand flank as he caused his fair share of problems.’

Livramento is going from strength to strength and it’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop at Newcastle.
