Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust

Welcome to Dog of the Week; our online feature highlighting some of the dogs waiting for their forever home.

Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.

Ella and Rufus are looking for their forever home

Nationwide, the charity currently has 822 dogs that are looking for a family to join.

You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.

And each Sunday we will feature one of the dogs looking for a new home in West Berkshire.

But for our bank holiday weekend dog of the week, we thought we’d bring you double the cuteness.

So this week we have best friends, Ella and Rufus, to introduce you to.

These two Beagles are very bonded and their favourite thing is to sit with their foster carers on the sofa and have lots of cuddles.

Ella is described as "an absolute sweetheart"

They are looking for an active household who can provide them with two walks a day, as they absolutely love exploring new places and travel well in the car.

The charity says it is looking for adopters who can build up their leaving hours, as the dogs have struggled with being left initially but are becoming more confident with this.

Rufus is always happy, say his foster carers

“This lovable pair are very good with children so could be rehomed with dog savvy children aged 5+,” they added.

They could also potentially live with another dog, pending a successful dog mix.

These two are best friends

Treats and food are also a favourite thing of theirs.

Ella is four and is described as “an absolute sweetheart”, while Rufus – a four-year-old Beagle/Foxhound cross – is always happy.

They have both captured the hearts of their fosterers.
