Well, it was a pretty steady performance from Forest at Bramall Lane and the survival bid is now in their hands.

One man was epic in South Yorkshire and it was academy graduate Ryan Yates.

The 26-year-old has been craving his first Premier League goal. Yesterday he got it, firing home in the second half.

Espirito Santo was seriously impressed with Yates and he raved about him after the game.

He told BBC Sport: “I am really happy for him. He is an important player for us.”

Ryan Yates has a role to play at Forest

He’s always dividing opinion but make no bones about it, there is a role for Yates at Forest.

Whether it’s as a squad player or as a starter remains to be seen but yesterday he was very much in the starring role.

Forest need to keep winning to finish the season with a flourish and hopefully, survival can be secured.

With Yates in the team, the future looks bright. Hopefully, the Forest man can improve and showcase that he’s got what it takes to become a regular in the Premier League.

Espirito Santo has an ace in his pack with Yates. The Forest captain proved his worth yesterday with a brilliant goal.
