'Good all season': Kelvin Wilson thinks 27-year-old has been a quality signing for Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest signed a quality player in the summer and he’s impressed Kelvin Wilson during the 2023/24 campaign.

It’s been a pretty rough season for Forest after they managed to remain in the Premier League during their maiden campaign back.

Forest have seen a number of decisions go against them, whilst they’ve also been deducted four points and sacked Steve Cooper.

Fans will be glad to see the back of the current campaign but one summer signing has at least impressed Wilson.

Kelvin Wilson hails ‘brilliant’ Nottingham Forest signing

After signing 30 signings in their first summer back in the Premier League, Forest learned some big lessons last summer.

The majority of the permanent additions to their squad have made an impact, with the exception of the two goalkeepers that were signed.

One man who has impressed Wilson at Forest is Ola Aina.

He joined on a free transfer after leaving Torino and has proved a seriously astute addition.

On Sunday, he was up against Kyle Walker and Wilson was seriously impressed with how well the Forest defender played.

He told theForest Focus podcast: “I thought he was brilliant, he was outstanding defensively as well. He’s been defensively good all season I think. I know people question him sometimes but he’s a seven or eight out of 10 most weeks.

“I know sometimes he’s a bit casual and he looks like he’s walking but he’s always pretty solid, he doesn’t really get beat, he’s good on the ball and he wins a lot of free kicks.

“On Sunday to outpace Kyle Walker. Wow! I was thinking, ‘Is Kyle Walker injured here’, but no he raised his game against the better opposition.”
