'The right technique': Pundit absolutely loved how £45m Chelsea player took his goal against West Ham

Chelsea’s first-half performance against West Ham United earlier was the Blues at their best.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s side went 3-0 up, with Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher both scoring nice goals.

They gave Chelsea a 2-0 lead before Noni Madueke added a third with his head after the 30-minute mark.

It was a win that Chelsea really needed. It has taken them above Manchester United and into seventh place in the Premier League.

If Manchester United lose against Crystal Palace tomorrow, it will leave the Blues in the driving seat to qualify for the Europa Conference League next season.

Pundit impressed with Chelsea star’s goal against West Ham

Again, neither Palmer nor Gallagher scored a tap in today. Both of their goals were pretty good.

Former Liverpool player Don Hutchison was really impressed with the former’s, having no doubts that he would convert.

On the 21-year-old, the Premier League pundit said: “Do you know, it was never in doubt. As soon as the ball fell to Cole Palmer you just had the feeling he was never going to panic. He was going to go for the right technique.

“He had all the goal to aim for and went to [Alphonse] Areola’s right-hand side. He’s not tracked well enough, that’s the problem, Edson Alvarez is ball-watching. Never ever did he look like missing. Just inevitable.”

How many goals should Cole Palmer aim to finish on?

In the Premier League, Palmer has scored 21 goals this season. Really, then, he should aim to get to 25.

The Blues only have three games left to play; however, this is a man who has scored two hat-tricks in the current campaign. The above is achievable.

If not, this still would have been an incredible season for Palmer. Getting to the 20-goal mark is a really impressive feat.

Chelsea paid £45m to sign Palmer from Manchester City last summer and at the time, it looked like a lot of money. After all, the England international did not have too much Premier League experience under his belt. Now, though, he looks like a sensational bargain.
