There was a former Dutch international who was spotted watching Liverpool vs Tottenham with Thiago at Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool got back to winning ways on Sunday in a performance that was much better than previous weeks.

Among the best performers for Liverpool on the day was probably Cody Gakpo. The 24-year-old’s cross provided the assist for Mohamed Salah’s opener.

He also got in the act getting a much needed third goal with an excellent finish to round off a really impressive performance.

But while the Dutch international was catching the eye on the pitch. There was a former Dutch international who was watching the game from the stands.

Arjen Robben spotted at Anfield watching Liverpool vs Tottenham

Arjen Robben played most of his career at Bayern Munich, but he also briefly turned out for Chelsea and Real Madrid.

He is regarded as an icon in the game who won the Champions League with Bayern, and who was a talisman for the Netherlands for many years.

During his playing career he was teammates with Thiago Alcantara at Bayern Munich, and it seems like Robben has made a visit to his former teammate on Sunday afternoon.

The Athletic’s James Pearce spotted the pair of them in the mixed zone at Anfield.

What is Arjen Robben up to these days?

Robben retired from professional football at Groningen in 2021 after playing the final season of his career for his boyhood club.

Since then he has become a coach, and is currently a coach trainee with Groningen’s U18 side. He was also previously a youth coach at Quick 1887.

Now 40-years-old, it seems like Robben could be going down the coaching path.
