She’s meaner than a junkyard dog: Kristi Noem names another famous animal she wants to shoot

When President Biden’s dog Commander couldn’t stop nipping Secret Service agents and others, the First Family found a more appropriate — but undisclosed — place for the German shepherd.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, in her new book and in an interview with CBS on Sunday, suggested the dog should’ve been destroyed.

Appearing on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Noem, a Republican rumored to be in the running to be Donald Trump’s running mate, suggested that Commander, who was banished from the White House last fall, should have been put down.

“Joe Biden’s dog has attacked 24 Secret Service people,” she told interviewer Margaret Brennan. “So how many people is enough to be attacked and dangerously hurt before you make a decision on a dog?”

Commander was sent to an undisclosed location after 24 biting episodes were recorded between October 2022 and July 2023, about half of which required medical attention.

Noem, of course, has sparked international backlash by revealing that she once brutally executed a family puppy, Cricket, because the 14-month old dog couldn’t be taught to be a hunting dog.

She said that the dog proved “untrainable” and was “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with.” Because the dog was “less than worthless” as a hunting dog, shot her in a gravel pit, she wrote in her book, “No Going Back,” which is scheduled to be published on Tuesday.

“I hated that dog,” Ms. Noem wrote.

In her book, Noem writes, “Commander, meet Cricket,” a threatening reference to killing the Biden’s dog. When asked about that sentence by Brennan asked, Noem stood her firing-squad ground.

“Joe Biden’s dog attacked 24 Secret Service people,” she said. “How many people is enough people to attack and dangerously hurt before you make a decision on a dog. That’s a decision the President should be making.”

“Are you saying the dog should be shot?” Brennan asked.

Instead of answering, Noem pivoted to talking about heer COVID policies and the economic state of South Dakota.
