Jeremie Frimpong says he would have loved to play with 58-goal ex-Man Utd star who shoots better than Aguero

Manchester United-linked Jeremie Frimpong has had a season to remember with Bayer Leverkusen and one that their fans certainly wont forget.

Xabi Alonso has done the near impossible with his group of players in the Bundesliga this season. He is currently a German top-flight winner, in a DFB Pokal Final and a Europa League semi-final. All unbeaten.

Leverkusen can also still become the first Bundesliga side to play an entire league campaign undefeated. They are also just one game away from breaking the record for the most undefeated games across all competitions.

At the heart of it all? Manchester United-linked Jeremie Frimpong, who has established himself as one of the world’s best full-backs at the German side.

Bayer Leverkusen right-back has been linked with a £34m move to Old Trafford, although that price could have certainly risen in the past month.

He’s played a total of 43 games this season, scoring a whopping 14 goals and providing 10 assists. Do we remind you he’s a right-back? Insane.

But for a few reasons, this just isn’t logical for Manchester United. Jeremie is more of a flying wing-back as opposed to an out-and-out full-back, meaning if he should stay – he won’t fit Erik ten Hag’s system.

Nevertheless, never say never for the future. It’s clear he has some admiration for one of the club’s greatest-ever forwards anyway.
