David Ornstein has now delivered verdict on Nottingham Forest FFP points appeal

David Ornstein has now delivered an update on the appeal made by Nottingham Forest over their four-point deduction.

The Reds were stripped of the points after breaching profitability and sustainability regulations.

That plunged them deep into relegation trouble and now things remain in the balance forForest.

Nuno Espirito Santo will have to face Chelsea at home and Burnley away, with one more win likely to be required.

Should the Clarets lose to Tottenham and West Ham defeat Luton on Saturday, Forest would practically be safe barring a mathematical miracle.

The Reds were hoping to get some points back to ease the run to the finish line and Ornstein has now delivered an update.

David Ornstein reveals outcome of Nottingham Forest appeal

Well, in an article in The Athletic, it’s been revealed that the club’s appeal hasn’t been successful.

Therefore, Forest still have work to do with the gap between them and Luton currently standing at three points.

The Reds would still have to go some to be caught by Burnley but it’s the Hatters that are causing the most concern.

Now, at least the club knows where they stand and they can ultimately focus on winning one more match.

Outcome of appeal hardly surprising

In a season that has seen Forest on the wrong end of some ridiculous officiating, this doesn’t really come as a surprise.

It does feel, in our view, as though someone has it in for Forest and this outcome isn’t a surprise.

Had Forest got a point or two back it would have been a big positive but now that won’t be the case.

The atmosphere should be electric when Chelsea come to Forest at the weekend and hopefully, the Reds can get the win they desperately crave.
