TV star denies being the culprit behind hit show 'going down in flames'

Before Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced to a combined 19 years in jail, their family had other issues including a rift with Todd’s oldest daughter, Lindsie Chrisley. Things fell apart so much for the family that Lindsie appeared on Dr Phil four years back to make claims about her father.

For many years, reality TV fans have followed along as the Chrisleys starred in Chrisley Knows Best and Growing Up Chrisley. Despite being a super entertaining bunch, there were all kinds of family drama going on before the show began, as well as behind the scenes.

Lindsie Chrisley on Dr Phil

It’s no secret, Todd and Lindsie have had their fair share of drama over the years. But, the father and daughter really went to town airing their dirty laundry in 2019.

Speaking on Dr Phil, Lindsie said she met her father at a barbecue place in Tennessee, where he told her he was “going to be indicted for various financial crimes and that they didn’t do it.”

She continued: “He asked me multiple times if I had met an individual at Starbucks that he believed was a part of the investigation.”

Lindsie added how Todd claimed she “did” meet the individual, as well as alleging there was “an affair going on.”

She told her father that “wasn’t the truth” before she received “a warning” from her dad.

Lindsie says she filed a police report after the meeting, as suggested by her attorney, because she “had a vendetta” against her father.

Dr Phil asked: “Did you backdoor, secret source the federal government against your family?”

She replied: “No.”

The show’s host asked: “You were not a whistleblower that turned the federal government onto your family’s wrongdoing?”

Again, Lindsie said: “No.”

He asked: “Did you want to bring Chrisley Knows Best down in flames?”

For a third time, she said: “No.”

However, Lindsie also explained how her father denied their conversation ever happened.

During the interview, Lindsie describes her half-siblings, Chase and Savannah Chrisley, as Todd’s “minion children.”

The comment was pinpointed by viewers of the show, who said it screams “jealousy.”

More wrote how they were unsure if Lindsie’s account was truthful, but more said: “… Here we are two years later and her parents have been convicted of these crimes…”

Lindsie went ‘no contact’

Lindsie’s Dr Phil interview highlighted the issues she and her father faced in their relationship.

But, it seems things haven’t improved much to this day.

Speaking on an episode Coffee Convos with Kail Lowry and Lindsie Chrisley this April, she talked about how she went “no contact” with her family multiple times in her life.

Kail asked Lindsie what the “most difficult part” of going no contact with her immediate family was over the years.

Lindsie said the “going no contact situation” with her family goes “deeper than people realize.”

She continued: “…it wasn’t just because I left Chrisley Knows Best.”

The former reality TV star said that she’d had a strained relationship with her family long before the show. She added how during: “most of her college days, she wasn’t in contact with her parents.”

Nowadays, Lindsie says she’s still in contact with some of her family members. But she has times of “no contact” for “self-preservation.”

Lindsie wasn’t present at her parents’ most recent prison appeal hearing, as her sister, Savannah, told her not to attend.

Savannah took to Instagram to say: “I told her that she was not wanted, that my dad did not want her there, and that he didn’t care to have a relationship with her,” Savannah wrote. “So, I said all of these things. I am more than happy I said them.”
