TV presenter switched to new farming career after one life-changing Ibiza night out

Larry Lamb’s son George Lamb is a TV presenter who decided to switch from his successful career to farming, which explains why he’s become a cast member on Jeremy Clarkson’s show, Clarkson’s Farm.

He was a former model and TV presenter who was no stranger to a boozy night out. However, Clarkson’s Farm star, George Lamb, is making a cameo in season 3 to talk all things farming.

George Lamb joins Clarkson’s Farm

Former TV presenter and model George Lamb, 44, runs business Wildfarmed with Andy Cato, who stars on Clarkson’s Farm season 3. Although he still lives in east London, he works in farming and agriculture.

He is best known for presenting The Bank Job and Big Brother‘s Little Brother. Andy and George are now promising to buy any crops that are grown in their method for a premium price on Clarkson’s Farm.

The pair have 250 regular customers, including Marks and Spencer, which also impressed Jeremy Clarkson, and his business advisor, often referred to as Cheerful Charlie.

It all changed on Ibiza night out

In 2018, George founded Wildfarmed with Andy, one half of music duo Groove Armada, after a chance meeting in Ibiza, with financier Edd Lees. At the time, George was used to red carpets and nights out.

“I had this big career and I woke up one morning and I called my dad [actor Larry Lamb] and told him I was feeling unfulfilled,” George told Financial Times. He then called his agent and said he was done.

He sold his house and his “army of suits” and took himself off to South America and Asia. Over the following few years he studied plant medicine, read books, and did a lot of “uncomfortable stuff”.

He wanted to help out society

When George had gone to his Dad for advice on being unfulfilled, he gave him a reality check: “He just said, ‘Well, you’re a game-show host, it’s not very serious in the big scheme of things, is it?’”

Lamb started to think about his contribution to society and said, “I realised it was time to stop looking outward, thinking who was going to do something. It was time for me to take some social responsibility.”
