Rihanna fans were left disappointed when their fave didn’t turn up to the Met Gala last night, after teasing her outfit just days ago.
If anyone knows how to slay the Met Gala, it’s Rihanna. Every year, fans look forward to seeing what fashion tricks the singer will be pulling out next, but unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until 2025 for her next look. Although the star was expected to attend the event with her partner, A$AP Rocky, sources say she unfortunately came down with an illness.

Fans were searching the internet for answers on why Rihanna didn’t attend this year’s prestigious event. Although there’s no word from the music star herself yet, sources say she had the flu, a source told PEOPLE.
The celebrity couple are one of the most stylish around, so their presence on the red carpet was definitely missed this year.
We’re sure the Umbrella singer is just as disappointed as we are about missing the event, as she recently gave fans a ‘sneak peek’ of her outfit in an interview.
“I’m actually just keeping it real simple this year… Very simple,” she told Extra at the launch of her new Fenty Beauty Soft’lit Foundation in L.A. “I think it’s gonna come to what my makeup and what my hair is going to do. We wanna play with that, but I have no idea what I’m gonna do with that.”
Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll never know what she was planning, but hopefully she’ll make up for it next year!

As we weren’t graced with a new look this year, we thought we’d take a look back to her iconic look at last year’s event, celebrating fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
The pair were fashionably late last year, but no one was complaining. The mom of two wore a Maison Valentino gown with a long, sweeping train, covering her self and head in a top covered in rosettes, which many compared to a sleeping bag. At the time, the pregnant with her second son, Riot Rose, so comfort was key.
The rapper wore a Gucci ensemble with a black blazer and matching tie with a Scottish kilt over some denim jeans. The look was inspired by a look the designer wore to close out the Chanel runway in 2004.
