Former Man Utd winger sends chilling warning to Erik ten Hag over FA Cup final vs Man City, he needs to take notes

Gordon Hill has sent a warning to Erik ten Hag over what Manchester City will do to Manchester United after the 4-0 thumping defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday.

Manchester United were outclassed and exposed by Crystal Palace on their trip to Selhurst Park, with Erik ten Hag’s men producing a woeful performance.

Palace were 2-0 up at half-time after Michael Olise opened the scoring against United before Jean-Philippe Mateta added his side’s second of the contest.

Tyrick Mitchell found the back of the net in the second half to extend Palace’s advantage before the United-linked Michael Olise completed his brace.

United manager Erik ten Hag has been under immense pressure amid uncertainty around his future at Old Trafford and the club’s underwhelming season.

The Dutchman’s first-team squad has also been ravaged by injuries, with Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire the latest United players sidelined.

United have won only one of their last five league matches, with the Red Devils’ dwindling form in recent weeks costing them a place in the top four this season.

Hill’s reaction to Man Utd display vs Palace

Manchester United will be without Champions League football for next season, but the Red Devils face an uphill battle in securing any European football now.

The Red Devils languish in eighth place in the league table with only three league fixtures remaining, with United level on points with seventh-place Chelsea.

Gordon Hill, who played for United during the 1970s, dropped his two cents on what he saw from the Red Devils’ performance at Selhurst Park.

The former United winger took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and posted a series of tweets about the defeat to Crystal Palace.

“Very few managers will survive this. Football has no patience,” Hill wrote.

“I see no attacking system, they are playing for themselves. Sad but so evident.

“Frustration is setting in and still a quarter of the game to go. Why didn’t they get upset at the beginning, and show by giving everything and conceding nothing.”

Hill’s warning to Ten Hag over Man City

Despite the chaotic season from United, Erik ten Hag has managed to reach his second consecutive FA Cup final as Red Devils boss.

United’s final match of the season will be a repeat of last season’s FA Cup final, with Ten Hag’s men set to face Manchester City on 25th May at Wembley.

The Red Devils were fortunate to reach the FA Cup final in the first place after they prevented a semi-final upset at the hands of Coventry City last month.

Hill has now warned Ten Hag that United will be ‘cut to pieces’ by City if the Red Devils play like they did against Palace.

“I think the noose is getting tighter, I hate to say it but what I am watching, please do something even if [it] means you lose by more, show me some fight and pride,” he tweeted.

“Attack and go for it at least. So sad watching this. The second half coming up [and now] show me.”

In a follow-up tweet, Hill wrote: “I am looking at players saying I don’t want to get injured before the [FA] Cup final; well, if you play like this, City will cut you to pieces, and to me that cannot happen.”
