‘I’m sure’: Alan Myers is certain that Tim Cahill is now doing something to boost Everton’s takeover chances

One would be forgiven for thinking that Everton’s season is over, given how the narrative surrounding the club has completely moved on from the football despite there still being two games left to play.

However, having secured survival just last month, it should come as no surprise that attention has turned to the more pressing takeover situation.

Especially with all the fresh reports emerging.

777 Partners have been locked in a fierce negotiation with the Premier League for eight months now, desperately scrambling to pool together the funds needed to seal the deal.

But with time running out, alternative investors will surely start to emerge…

Alan Myers makes Tim Cahill takeover prediction

One such potential saviour reportedly hails from Qatar, with it already being claimed that a rescue move is planned for if the Miami-based outfit fails in its bid.

For a club as big and historic as Everton, there should be a long list of suitors, but their dire financial position makes it so few would want to come near them.

However, one man who could help bridge the gap and negotiate such a marriage is Tim Cahill, who boasts ties to Qatar after their work in hosting the 2022 World Cup.

As the country’s technical football director, there are certainly ways that he could perhaps coerce them into such an acquisition to benefit both the country he lives in and the club he once starred for.

And when asked about whether Cahill might be out marketing Everton in such a fashion, journalist Alan Myers was certain that this was already the case: ‘I’m sure he already does’.

777 Partners need to give up their Everton takeover

This protracted takeover could have been solved so long ago, and much of that delay is down to the malpractice of 777 Partners.

Having had to battle through the steady dissolution of certain assets alongside accusations of fraud and not paying their players, it always feels like the pressure is ramping up on them.

And yet, they somehow survive, only to make a late appearance at Goodison Park to save face.

It is a truly baffling process, and one Farhad Moshiri could have sorted had he just moved on from his first choice.

The stubborn Iranian is seemingly intent on condemning Everton to further turmoil even after he has gone as he simply cannot move on from this being the only option he has to leave the club.

It’s wholly inexplicable, and either he needs to finally move on, or 777 Partners needs to cut their losses and realise that this doesn’t seem like a deal worth doing at the moment for an institution in such disarray.
