Poland again scrambles its aviation due to Russian missile attack

"Please note that Polish and allied aircraft are operating in the airspace, which may lead to increased noise levels, especially in the southeastern part of the country," the Polish military said.

"Intense activities of Russian long-range aviation" could be seen at night carrying out missile strikes on Ukraine, Polish Armed Forces said.

Polish fighter jets operated twice during the night of April 27.

Russia staged another mass combined attack overnight on May 8, with Ukraine's western oblasts a particular target of the missile attack.

Ukraine has suggested that Poland is welcome to 'close the skies' over Western Ukraine by using their Air Force or Patriot systems to shoot down Russian missiles, Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Ilya Yevlash said during a TV interview on April 29.
