Thief banned from Cambridge stores

A Cambridge thief has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning him from a string of stores in the city.

Jack Wilmot, 27, of East Road, was handed the two year CBO at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (2 May).

It states he must not enter any Boots, Co-Op, The Perfume Shop, John Lewis, or TK Maxx store outlined by the M11, A14 and A428.

Wilmot was last sentenced to 18 weeks in prison on 18 April after pleading guilty to five counts of shoplifting. He has since been arrested and charged with further offences and is due to be sentenced again in June.

PC Laura D’Urso, from the spree offending team, said: “Shoplifting can have a huge impact on both businesses and those who work for them. It often comes hand in hand with other crimes including violence.

“We’re committed to working alongside businesses that are victims of theft to catch those responsible and put them before the courts.”
