The Premier League has just made a ridiculous decision about Liverpool's Mohamed Salah - opinion

Mohamed Salah should not be happy about an important Premier League decision this week.

Even though he’s been performing to unprecedented standards again, Mohamed Salah is still one of the most overlooked players in world football.

Liverpool’s own fans often don’t appreciate just how good the Egyptian is. Even during a season in which he has supposedly ‘struggled’ Salah has been one of the best players in the Premier League.

In fact, only Cole Palmer, Erling Haaland and Ollie Watkins have made more goal contributions than Salah this season.

Mohamed Salah overlooked by the Premier League

All of those players mentioned above have been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season, except for Salah himself.

Instead, the likes of Phil Foden, who has four fewer goals and assists, has made the nomination over Salah.

This is a decision that is pretty ridiculous given how good Salah has been. Sure, he has had a slight dip in form recently, but overall he’s once again had a very good season.

The fact that the Premier League have overlooked him should make Salah furious, and Liverpool supporters as well. He deserves more.

Mohamed Salah’s amazing numbers in the Premier League this season

On top of having 28 goal contributions in 30 matches this season, Salah also averages a goal contribution every 84 minutes in the Premier League.

Only Erling Haaland (76 minutes) and Cole Palmer (78 minutes) have a more productive rate.

Meanwhile, as per Fotmob, Salah has also created the most big chances (22) in the league.

He’s just simply been sensational and the numbers reflect that as well. How he hasn’t made the nominations is an abomination.
