Oscar Bobb says midfielder who left in 2020 is his favourite Man City player ever

Oscar Bobb has shared who his favourite Manchester City icon is.

Having been involved in the Manchester club’s youth sides since his arrival back in the 2019 summer transfer window, the winger has been a part of Pep Guardiola’s senior squad for this campaign.

In 25 appearances across all competitions, the Norwegian has scored two goals and delivered two assists for the Citizens.

Throughout the season, Bobb has been sharing the pitch and the dressing room with some of the best players in the Premier League and some of the best players in City’s history.

Now though, Bobb has revealed which former City figure he admires above anyone else.

In a recent video shared on the Sports Direct TikTok channel which saw Bobb do a quickfire Q&A, the winger was asked to name his favourite City icon.

In response, the 20-year-old picked David Silva.

City paid £24m to sign the Spaniard from Valencia back in 2010 and went on to see him spend 10 years at the Etihad Stadium before leaving in 2020 to join Real Sociedad.

During his time with the Blues, the former midfielder made 436 appearances across all competitions, scoring 77 goals and delivering 132 assists in the process.

Silva is a certified City legend

Having won numerous trophies at City including four Premier League titles, Silva was commemorated with a statue outside the Etihad in recognition of his efforts for the club.

In fact, more recently, when he was a guest at City’s recent 5-1 win over Wolves, Khaldoon Al Mubarak presented the former City star with a lifetime Seasoncard.

Back in July, after Silva announced his retirement, Guardiola said that it was “a pleasure” to coach such an “unbelievable” player like the former Spain international.

Taking all of that into account, it’s not surprising to see that Bobb has named Silva as his favourite City icon.
