Cole Palmer shares which of his Chelsea teammates is always last to training

Chelsea trio Cole Palmer, Marc Cucurella and Alfie Gilchrist have been answering a few questions for EA Sports, the makers of EA Sports FC 24.

One question that they were asked was, who is the last Chelsea player to training?

It is not Cole Palmer, but even if it was the attacker, he would surely be forgiven for it after the season he has had.

In 42 appearances for the Blues, Palmer has scored 24 goals and provided 13 assists, which is an exceptional return.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly recently described the 22-year-old as a “phenomenon”.

Which Chelsea player is last to training?

According to Palmer, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer, another one of the Blues’ recent signings is the last man who turns up to the training pitch at Cobham.

In a video shared by Chelsea’s official website, the Englishman said: “Yeah, Axel [Disasi] is last isn’t he?”

Disasi has been an important player for Mauricio Pochettino this season.

Since joining from AS Monaco, the central defender has gone on to make almost 45 appearances for the Blues.

Could Axel Disasi lose his spot next season?

Disasi has not missed too many games for Chelsea this term, but the 2024/25 campaign could be another story.

Pochettino will be hoping to have Wesley Fofana back from injury and if Trevoh Chalobah remains at the club, he could claim that right centre-back spot based on how he is playing right now.

The 24-year-old has really impressed since coming back from his own injury. It was Chalobah, of course, who opened the scoring in his side’s 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.

According to WhoScored, the central defender is currently making 3.3 clearances per game, which is the third-highest average in Pochettino’s squad.

If he remains at Stamford Bridge, then, there could be a real battle to start at right centre-back next term.

Chalobah is one academy product Chelsea are thought to be open to selling this summer.
