What Ange Postecoglou has just said about King Charles III ahead of Tottenham vs Burnley

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has now commented on King Charles III ahead of the game on Saturday against Burnley.

A big opportunity awaits Tottenham on the weekend against a side who could be relegated by the full-time whistle.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side have struggled massively over the last month to find their form shown even back in March.

Spurs looked like a side who were ready to take control of the race for fourth spot when they emphatically beat Aston Villa on their home soil.

However, since that result, Spurs have not looked the same side and find themselves seven points adrift with three games to go.

Three points against Vincent Kompany’s side would put Spurs in a good position to secure fifth spot, but it could come at the expense of upsetting the King of England.

Postecoglou was told on Friday during his press conference that King Charles III is a Burnley fan to which the Spurs boss had a message ahead of Saturday’s game.

The large majority of Tottenham’s players have failed to impress over the last month as their efforts for Champions League qualification have come up short.

Heung-min Son has been a prime example of just this. The South Korean has found the back of the net twice in his last three games.

However, he has not looked like the player who Spurs fans have come to expect after a sensational 2023/24 campaign until recently.

But coming up against one of the league’s strugglers, Saturday’s game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will provide them with a chance to get back on track.

And Postecoglou has admitted he has no issues with upsetting the King of England tomorrow by beating the Lancashire side.

Speaking in his press conference on Friday from Hotspur Way, the 58-year-old commented on his recent visit to Buckingham Palace.

“That’s probably why they kept him away from me, mate. I’d be happy to disappoint him tomorrow, not a problem,” the Australian said to the media.

Why Ange Postecoglou was at Buckingham Palace this week

The Spurs manager now almost has 12 months under his belt in England having been appointed by Daniel Levy last summer.

From Melbourne to London, the Australian has now found himself mixing it among some influential figures this week after being invited to Buckingham Palace.

However, he did admit that he did not get within 10 feet of King Charles III with Spurs playing the King’s club on Saturday.

“We got an invite from the Australian government. Me and the other Aussies in the group, Mile [Jedinak], Scott [Munn], Charlie Grant from the women’s team. It was nice, a different experience,” he told the media.

“Yeah, but I didn’t get with 10 feet of the King and if I had of got closer I probably would have asked him about the Parthenon marbles and I would probably have got thrown out. It was nice for me and my wife.”
