Fabrizio Romano now reveals when Real Madrid will officially announce Kylian Mbappe deal

Kylian Mbappe’s long-awaited move to Real Madrid finally looks close to completion, as the Paris Saint-Germain striker formally announced that he would exit his club at the end of this season.

Mbappe nearly joined Real Madrid two years ago, before changing his mind and staying at PSG, but he is now ready to move to the Santiago Bernabeu, after seven years in the French capital.

The 25-year-old announced his upcoming departure from PSG in a video, ahead of his final game for the club in their final Ligue 1 fixture of the season, but there is no official confirmation yet that he will join Real Madrid.

However, Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the move is expected to be completed soon, and that the club are preparing a special announcement for him.

Real Madrid to announce Kylian Mbappe signing after Champions League final

Speaking in a video posted on X, Romano explained what the necessary steps are before Real Madrid can announce Mbappe’s arrival, which is expected to happen after their campaign finishes following the Champions League final on June 1st.

“He always wanted to leave in a nice way with the fans. He’s going to say goodbye to the fans in a special and nice way on Sunday, but then his future is going to start in June, and it’s going to be a future at Real Madrid,” he stated.

“They are now waiting for the formal steps. Real Madrid are now in the Champions League final, and so for the announcement, the expectation is for the end of the season.

“Let’s see how Real Madrid will now decide to handle that, but to wait for the formal steps, for the final steps. Then for the big bomb, we need to be a bit more patient, but it’s all clear. The agreement between Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid on the contract is there.”

Mbappe is one of the highest-profile transfers Real Madrid have made in the last 10 years, and his announcement could be on the scale of the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

The striker will arrive as a World Cup winner and one of the best players in the world, and he will join a star-studded lineup alongside Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, with Endrick also set to join.

Real Madrid will now aim to win La Liga and the Champions League again next season, but first they will have a final against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley before they welcome Mbappe to the club.
