Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, the US has provided military aid to Ukraine totaling over $50 billion, according to the Pentagon's website.
"The US has committed more than $51.3 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the beginning of the Biden Administration, including more than $50.6 billion since the beginning of Russia’s unprovoked and brutal invasion on February 24, 2022," the US Department of Defense announced.
The Defense Department also published a detailed list of weapons and ammunition provided to Ukraine.
Among them, the Ukrainian Armed Forces received one Patriot air defense battery, 12 National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS), HAWK air defense systems, and missiles. The US also transferred over two thousand Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, Avenger and VAMPIRE counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (c-UAS), two dozen radars, and more.
When it comes to means of defeating the enemy, since February 24, 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have received over 40 HIMARS systems, Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb launchers, nearly two hundred 155mm Howitzers, and over 3 million shells. In addition, Ukrainian forces have received over seven thousand precision-guided shells and tens of thousands of Remote Anti-Armor Mine (RAAM) systems.
Since February 24, over 70 105mm Howitzers and 800,000 shells for them have been sent to Ukraine. Moreover, the Pentagon has also been able to supply Ukraine with over half a million shells of other calibers, including 203mm, 152mm, 130mm, 60,000 122mm GRAD rockets, and others.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces have also received from the US 31 Abrams tanks, 45 T-72B tanks, over n 300 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, 189 Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers, over 400 M113 APCs, and 250 M1117 Armored Security Vehicles. Additionally, the Pentagon has transferred over a thousand Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles, over 3,000 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), 200 light tactical vehicles, 300 IFVs, 80 trucks, and 144 trailers for heavy equipment transport to Ukraine.
It is also noted that Ukraine has received 20 Mi-17 helicopters, Switchblade drones, Phoenix Ghost UAS, CyberLux K8 UAS, Altius-600 UAS, Jump-20 UAS, Hornet UAS, Puma UAS, and Scan Eagle drones, as well as radars, High-speed Anti-radiation missiles (HARMs), over six Zuni aircraft rockets, Hydra-70 aircraft rockets, and others.
"The US also continues to work with its Allies and partners to provide Ukraine with additional capabilities to defend itself," the US Department of Defense said.
New military aid package from the US
Yesterday, May 10, the US announced the provision of arms to Ukraine as part of a new $400 million military aid package. This is the second military aid package to Ukraine from the US after Congress allocated funds for this purpose at the end of April.
According to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, Ukraine will receive missiles for Patriot, NASAMS, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, ammunition for HIMARS, and artillery, equipment, and more from the US.
