'He is one of the best out there': Tony Cascarino blown away by £60m striker Arsenal reportedly want to sign

Arsenal are likely to be busy this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to build on the good work he has done at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners remain firmly in the picture for the Premier League title, the second year in which this has been the case.

Better yet, Arsenal’s foundations are strong and they look like they’ll continue to challenge for the title and the Champions League for years to come.

However, there’s certainly scope for the Gunners to strengthen further, with the front line likely to be an area looked at by Edu and Arteta.

Arsenal could do with wingers to take the pressure off the likes of Bukayo Saka, while an out-and-out No. 9 is something they don’t currently have.

One player said to be on the Gunners radar is Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, who is going from strength to strength at St James’ Park.

And talkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino believes the Sweden international is one of the best forward in the game at present.

What has Tony Cascarino said about Arsenal target Alexander Isak?

Cascarino said on talkSPORT (11/5/2024, 7:41am): “Who wouldn’t want to take Isak?

“He is a dangerous striker, he has got a lot of ability, he is quick, he is a very good finisher, especially in one-on-ones. He is one of the best out there.”

Cascarino is not the only pundit who has sung Isak’s praises in recent months. The likes of Martin Keown, Harry Redknapp and Alan Shearer have also lauded the Magpies man.

Admittedly, Isak may prove a difficult player for Arsenal – or anyone else – to sign this summer.

Although Newcastle will have to be mindful of balancing their books, it looks as though the £60million man isn’t someone they’re thinking of selling.

Indeed, TBR sources recently suggested that the Magpies are plotting a bumper new contract for Isak.

Let’s see what happens in the coming months. Maybe Arsenal could turn the heads of both Newcastle and Isak with a significant bid. He’d certainly be worth it.
