Fears Prince Harry and King Charles' relationship is 'beyond repair' - Duke's 'reluctant'

Although Prince Harry and King Charles save face when speaking about each other to the press, a royal expert claims their relationship is ‘too toxic’ now.

The Duke of Sussex touched down on home soil on Tuesday, before celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games the following day. There was growing speculation Prince Harry would meet his father face-to-face, but the Duke released a statement explaining he wouldn’t get to see his dad Charles. King Charles‘ schedule was too busy to see his second son, after he returned to work full-time after being diagnosed with cancer. However, a royal expert has now come out to claim their relationship is ‘too toxic’ for both of them now.

Tom Quinn, royal author, told The Mirror, although the statement implies Charles is too busy to see his son, Harry himself is reluctant over a meeting face-to-face.

He said: “Although the statement about his father being too busy to see him makes it look as if Charles is refusing to see his son, the truth is that Harry himself is just as reluctant to see his father.

“The relationship is just too toxic”.

The duo have had a strained relationship over the years, with Harry writing in his memoir he begged his father to not marry Queen Consort Camilla, but he did so anyway.

The Duke of Sussex also published tense conversations between them, and his brother Prince William, in his memoir Spare. One such discussion took place after Prince Philip’s funeral, the husband of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

He said he called the meeting between the trio looking for an apology for his wife Meghan Markle, but both Charles and William ‘had no idea what to apologize for’.

The brothers reportedly started bickering, which caused Charles to beg them to stop, for his sake.

Time and thousands of miles apart

There have been many revelations since the 39-year-old left The Firm with his wife and son Archie in 2020.

Harry told Oprah Winfrey in their interview the following year his father ‘cut him off financially’, detailing how he had to use his mother, Princess Diana’s, inheritance to purchase their forever home in California, the Montecito mansion.

In his memoir, Spare, he claimed his father and stepmother leaked stories to the press about him to keep any negative spotlight away from senior members of The Firm.

While the Duke made a sudden trip to the UK solo without Meghan after news King Charles had cancer, reports say they only spent 15 minutes with each other.

It comes after reports the monarch joked he’d have to check if Harry was wearing a wire during their next conversation over fears it’d be used for another book or televised interview.
